Michael Pyatok has been an architect and professor of architectural design for over 40 years. Since 1984, he has designed more than 35,000 affordable homes in the U.S. and throughout the world. At the heart of Pyatok's work is the participatory design process he uses to deeply involve residents, community members and stakeholders in the revitalization of low-income communities. As the Founding Director of the Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family, he led their efforts to develop demonstrations of sustainable design and affordable housing.
