Often times Colorado’s homeless population is stereotyped to just the segment of the community that the public actually sees, but this picture doesn’t capture all those affected by homelessness. Families, single parents, children and at-risk groups are increasingly impacted by the lack of affordable housing in the state. Join us as we discuss the emerging demographic trends of homelessness in Colorado. Our session will begin with an overview of the most recent data and trends, followed by breakout round-table discussion groups to explore the following topics in depth*:

Working with Families & Youth

  • Single parents with multiple children
  • Childcare struggles
  • 20’s & youth coming out of foster care

High-Risk Groups

  • Refugees in Colorado
  • Trauma informed care
  • Domestic violence
  • Changing shelter’s focus

Financial Resources

  • Social Impact Bonds
  • Permanent supportive housing
  • Project-based vouchers
  • Tenant based rental assistance

*Actual topics may vary the day of the event
