2019 Statewide Outreach Event Series

Housing Colorado and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing (DOH) are pleased to host the Statewide Outreach Event Series. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with affordable housing professionals, learn about housing-related legislation from the 2019 session, receive updates on upcoming funding opportunities and awards, and share pressing housing issues in Colorado.

9:00 am - Registration and Welcome

9:30 am - Legislative Update, Policy Discussion and 2020 Strategy - Housing Colorado
What a year!  With a trifecta in the House, Senate and Administration, affordable housing was front and center for legislative this year.  We will share the salient points on legislation that passed (and those that did not).  We would also like to hear how policy affects housing development and operations in your city 

10:00 am -  Division of Housing
DOH Staff will be available to answer questions and share updates on new and existing programs, funding opportunities, policy/rule changes, and trainings.

11:00 am – Affordable Housing Case Study
This year we are highlighting a successful affordable housing project in each region, with an emphasis on the critical elements of success, and lessons learned.  This case study will help understand the unique issues in each region, and frame the conversation after lunch. 

11:30 am - Lunch Provided

12:00 pm – Case Study Discussion
A facilitated discussion on what made the case study project work, elements that could be replicated throughout the region, and lessons learned from the process. 

1:00 pm – Round Table Discussion
Sit with members of your community and discuss a project or problem that you’d like to leverage resources towards this year.  Division of Housing and other housing experts will be on hand to facilitate the discussion and provide technical assistance and resources. 

2:00 pm – Report Out
Each community will be asked to share their work with the group and hopefully generate a lively discussion resulting in strategic steps for the most promising projects under discussion. 

3:00 pm - Adjourn
