Please join the Housing Colorado Young Professional Committee for a thought-provoking roundtable discussion with Ismael Guerrero, Executive Director of the Denver Housing Authority (DHA). Bring your questions and concerns to this small group discussion where Mr. Guerrero will answer anything about the state of housing and also share about he became the Executive Director of DHA.
This event is for members who are young professionals, emerging leaders, and those who are new to the affordable housing industry.

Parking and Transit: Parking is available at the DHA garage for the cost of $1 an hour. There is also street parking available. The use of public transportation is recommended, as DHA is located right by the 10th and Osage stop (C, D, E, F, and H Lines).
Ismael Guerrero – Executive Director
Mr. Guerrero has served as Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA), since June 2007. DHA has a portfolio of over 5,000 Public Housing, Section 8, and Workforce rental units and administers over 6,000 Housing Choice Vouchers, making it the largest housing authority in the Rocky Mountain region. Under Mr. Guerrero’s leadership, DHA has undertaken an ambitious plan to transform public housing in Denver, creating vibrant, sustainable, mixed-income communities of choice. DHA focus is on several major public housing redevelopments, including the Sun Valley Homes Revitalization, Mariposa District. Both are mixed-income, LEED-certified, transit-oriented developments along the West Corridor light rail line.
Mr. Guerrero has over 25 years of experience in affordable housing, community development and real estate finance. He’s passionate about community transformation, growth and development that enhances the lives and well-being of the people, and has helped shape that vision on a larger scale in Denver, through innovative changes, development and community programs at DHA.
Prior to joining DHA, Guerrero served as Vice President and Business Development Officer for U.S. Bank Community Development Corporation and as Vice President of Real Estate Development at Mercy Housing Southwest.
Mr. Guerrero has an engineering degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is active on various local, state and national boards that focus on innovative housing solutions, sustainability initiatives, equitable development outcomes, and creative financing strategies.
